What is OmeetChat?
OmeetChat is a free random video chat service. You connect with a random stranger from anywhere in the world and chat via video and text — right in your browser, no installation or registration required.
Do I need to register?
No. OmeetChat requires no account, email, or phone number. Just open the site, allow camera and microphone access, press 'Start' — and you're chatting.
Is it really free?
Yes, completely free. All features — video call, text chat, skipping to the next stranger — are available with no subscription, no hidden fees, and no ad interruptions.
What is the minimum age?
The service is intended exclusively for users aged 18 and over. On first visit you confirm your age and agree to the terms. Minors are not permitted.
Technical Questions
How does the video connection work?
OmeetChat uses WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) — a direct peer-to-peer connection between browsers. Your video stream goes directly to your partner without passing through our servers and without being recorded.
Which devices does OmeetChat support?
The service works in any modern browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge. Computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets are all supported. No app installation required.
Why isn't my camera or microphone working?
Check that your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone — look for a camera or lock icon in the address bar. Make sure no other application is using the camera. Try refreshing the page.
How do I switch to the next stranger?
Press 'Stop', then 'Start' again — you'll be connected to a new random stranger. Average wait time is a few seconds.
Safety & Privacy
Is the service safe?
OmeetChat does not store video recordings and does not collect personal data. The connection is direct between browsers. That said, be careful: don't share your name, address, or other personal information with strangers.
Can I chat anonymously?
Yes. We don't ask for a name, email, or phone number. Your IP address is processed only to prevent abuse and is never shared with chat partners. The video stream travels directly over an encrypted connection.
What should I do if a stranger breaks the rules?
Press the 'Report' button in the interface. Moderators will review the report and block the offender if necessary. You'll automatically move to the next stranger.
Will there be a mobile app?
The OmeetChat website is fully optimized for mobile devices and works right in your smartphone's browser. A standalone app is not planned — the browser version provides everything you need.
